The Lunar Oracle

This piece was made as an example for an art prompt during one of my workshops. The prompt was:

Throughout history, cultures across the world have looked to the Moon as a timekeeper and for guidance, using its phases to predict the future for both practical and spiritual purposes. It watched over us and, in return, we offered it awe and respect as a guiding light in civilization. Today, it still holds great importance in the worldview and traditions of many modern cultures, and a fundamental place in our global cultural ethos. Scientifically, it also helps us understand the Solar System’s past and how planetary surfaces evolve. It is no wonder that we feel compelled to explore the Moon’s mysteries and hidden landscapes, to touch or even visit it.

What does the Moon have left to teach us? What responsibilities do we have as modern caretakers? In what ways do/should we celebrate, respect, and learn from it? Create a triptych that depicts the Moon, or our relationship to it, in the Past, Present, and Future.
