This work is a collaboration with Arizona artist Linda Fox! I met Linda during my first workshop and she was interested in the way I make my paper planets. She made this intaglio print using one of the cutting mats left over from the process of cutting Margaret’s Moon. I love how immersive and timeless it feels, a map to the art-making process. You can see how I moved the cuts around on the mat to different locations to prevent over-wearing in only one area (this makes the cuts sloppy), yet the lunar landscape is still visible. The vertical lines show depression of the mat adhesive where the rollers from the machine hold it in place.
