My name is Jamie! I study asteroids, make art out of spacecraft data, wrote a novel, and own a carousel.

My day job is being a planetary scientist. I study the surfaces of other planets doing academic research and as part of space missions with NASA. A lot of my recent work has focused on asteroids as part of the OSIRIS-REx mission which returned a sample of asteroid rock to Earth. I also study the Moon and other worlds that have cool rocks.

I’m also an artist, and most of my work explores scientific data or ideas in some way or another. My art includes smaller works, such as my series of Paper Planets, as well as larger installations like the Skyhorse Carousel. I also teach art workshops and do a lot of art-related science outreach.

Recently I wrote a novel which I hope to publish one day. I’m also a harpist, avid board and video gamer, and I have a cute dog!
